OpTic Gaming have booked their place in the upper bracket quarter-finals of VALORANT's VCT Masters Reykjavik after beating XERXIA in the group decider match.
In the next stage of the VCT Masters Reykjavik, OpTic Gaming are 1/1 to defeat The Guard, who are 8/11 to prevail, on Friday.
OpTic lost to XERXIA in their opening match in Group B, meaning they then had to take on KRU Esports in the section's elimination match.
They came through that game fairly comfortably, winning 2-0, and consequently set up a rematch with XERXIA, who lost the Group B winners' match against Team Liquid.
That mean OpTic and XERXIA locked horns again for a place in the knockout stage and it was OpTic who avenged their earlier defeat in the tournament with a 2-0 victory.
The presence of Victor "Victor" Wong on the Neon for OpTic proved decisive in a tight match and they now join the rest of the quarter-final lineup at the VCT Masters.

Four seeded teams - G2 Esports, The Guard, Paper Rex and LOUD - will enter the tournament at this stage and will take on the winners and runners-up in Groups A and B in the first round of the playoffs.
OpTic's coach Chet "Chet" Singh is naturally pleased with his team's progression but recognises that XERXIA are a good team who pushed them to their limits.
Following the result, he said: "They're a team that's very hard for us to read, so they forced us to play very slow.
"They do a good job making us not know what they're doing and they manipulate rotates, similar to KRU.
"I'll say it' probably one of the toughest games that we played."
