The Toronto Raptors travel to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, with the two teams looking to get a win for very different reasons.
The hosts currently occupy sixth in the Eastern Conference and will be determined to stay clear of the chasing Miami Heat and Orlando Magic while avoiding the Play-In round.
The Raptors are down in 12th place in the East and need the win to try and close the gap on the Atlanta Hawks, currently 10th in the standings, if they want to reach the Play-In to ultimately keep their season going.
Both teams go into this game in good form, having restarted the season after the All-Star break in perfect fashion and going 2-2, with the Pacers extending their winning streak to three, having beaten the Raptors just beforehand.
That was a first win for Indiana in the head-to-head matchup this season, with Toronto winning the first meeting back in November, and taken solely on that evidence, the Raptors might be the play in this one.
However, Toronto is not the same team now as the one that won at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in November, and generally has been poor on the road this season with just nine wins and 20 defeats.
Indiana overpowered the previously in-form Dallas Mavericks on Sunday and the margin of victory (133-111) showed they were a team in form, while also allowing the bench to play a major part.
There is still the question of how badly the Raptors want to make the Play-In while the Pacers are needing the win to maintain their cushion in the top six.
RJ Barrett missed Toronto's 123-121 win in Atlanta on Friday and although he is expected to play on Monday night, the Raptors need him at his absolute best to stand a chance of upsetting the Pacers on the road.
Barrett scored 23 points against the Pacers just before the All-Star break to help ease the burden on Scottie Barnes, but Toronto still lost that game and he may not be at the peak of his powers.
The league's best offense is in good order and can make home advantage count to extend the winning streak to four games.
This game is likely to mean a little more to Pascal Siakam than most as he takes on his former club, with the Pacers having also taken a little time to get things going since making the trade for the Cameroonian.
However, that seems to be something they have ironed out as they have now won three straight, started by the win over Toronto.
Siakam scored 23 points in that game but also provided seven assists, while he also dished out five assists in a 36-point haul in Toronto's win back in November. He averaged 4.9 assists for the Raptors, while he averages 4.5 since his trade so odds of +110 for over 3.5 look appealing.
Siakam and Tyrese Hailburton may well attract much of the Raptors' attention on Monday and that will allow others to step up to the plate.
That was the case on Sunday when the Pacers routed the Mavericks and it could pay to ride the wave for Myles Turner.
Turner averages 17.4 PPG on the season but he had a field day against Dallas, as he amassed 33 points. Although he went under 17.5 in Friday's win over the Detroit Pistons, he contributed 22 and 23 points in the two previous games against Charlotte and the New York Knicks.
He looks good value at -120 to pass 17.5 points for the fourth time in five games.
