Entering Wednesday, the Predators (37-25-4) sit atop the Western Conference Wild Card picture, while the Jets (41-18-5) look a shoe-in for the playoffs on 87 points and second in the Central Division.
Let's get into some predictions and picks for tonight's matchup, courtesy of our friends at Daily Faceoff.
Two of the hottest teams in the NHL are facing off in Winnipeg. Since February 12th, the Predators are tied for first in points and the Jets are tied for fourth. Pretty impressive for two teams who weren’t being talked about much at the beginning of the season.
Winnipeg has the slight edge in the head-to-head match up as they’ve gone 6-3-1 in their last ten games against the Preds.
Both teams are very strong in net. Juuse Saros and Connor Hellebuyck are two of the best goalies in the NHL, and they’ve been the backbone of their respective team’s success this season. Because of that, I think we’ll see a low scoring game. The under has hit in seven of the Predators last ten games and six of Winnipeg’s last ten.
This is going to be a playoff style game and atmosphere in Winnipeg. Adam Lowry is the type of player for the Jets who often steps up and plays his best hockey when a lot is on the line. I like him as an anytime goal scorer tonight.
Over/Under: Under 5.5 (-105)
Anytime Goalscorer: Adam Lowry +450
Money Line: Winnipeg Jets -155
