The penultimate week of the LPL Spring Split 2023 in China gets underway on Monday and there is still plenty to play for.

China's LPL Spring is the nation's first major League of Legends event of the year, featuring 17 teams initially playing in a round-robin league format.

At the end of the regular season, the top 10 teams in the division progress to the playoff stage and battle it out for the LPL Spring 2023 title.

The top two teams in the playoffs will also automatically qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 - a major international League of Legends event taking place later in the year.

For now, though, the regular season of the LPL Spring 2023 is still in action as teams battle for the best playoff seeding or merely qualification itself.

As it stands, Edward Gaming, LNG Esports and JD Gaming have already secured places in the playoffs with seven more set to join them.

Week nine of the LPL Spring begins on Monday with a double-header of matches as Bilibili Gaming firstly take on ThunderTalk Gaming before Weibo Gaming clash with Oh My God.

The LPL Spring regular season concludes on Sunday 26th March with the end of Week 10.

Bilibili Gaming are -175 to win their first match of Week Nine against +125 shots ThunderTalk Gaming but the sides have identical records in the LPL Spring 2023 and punters should not rush to back them.

Bilibili Gaming are undoubtedly a strong force on the LPL circuit - they finished above the playoff line in both the LPL Spring and the LPL Summer last season - and they warmed up for the new season by winning the Demacia Cup at the end of 2022.

Form is on their side heading into this week with three wins picked up in their previous four matches but ThunderTalk Gaming have been better than their price suggests recently, getting the better of Ultra Prime, LGD Gaming, Weibo Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas in the last three weeks.

Bilibili Gaming are more used to competing for the playoff places than ThunderTalk, who finished bottom of last year's LPL Spring, but they have come a long way since then and should not be ruled out entirely in this contest.

A close one could be on the cards so over 2.5 maps looks appealing at -110.

Alternatively, punters could back ThunderTalk to win the first map at +110 or back them at +3.5 on the kill handicap at -120.

Oh My God could spring a surprise

Weibo Gaming and Oh My God have been two of the stronger performers at this year's LPL Spring 2023 and they could be tough to separate in their Week Nine opener.

While Oh My God have an 8-4 win-loss record in the LPL Spring, Weibo Gaming's record is 7-5, so there is not a lot between the sides in the standings.

As it stands, Oh My God are the next most likely to book their place in the playoffs with a win set to be enough to qualify but the odds suggest this is Weibo Gaming's for the taking.

But while Weibo Gaming have lost their last two matches against Royal Never Give Up and Edward Gaming, Oh My God are on a five-match winning streak.

Weibo Gaming are the more experienced of these two outfits and finished above Oh My God in both splits in the LPL 2022 season but recent form favours Oh My God, who will not be short of incentive to win this one.

With that in mind, Oh My God are a good bet to win but punters could also back them to win at least one map at -188 or at +5.5 on the kill handicap at -120.
