It's the business end of the LCS Summer and there are some huge matches in store on the final day of the penultimate game week.
Seeding is up for grabs for the Summer Playoffs and with Worlds 2022 just around the corner, there is everything to play for.
What | FlyQuest v Counter Logic Gaming, LCS Summer 2022 |
Where | United States |
When | 15.30pm, Sunday August 7th 2022 |

Odds | FlyQuest -110, Counter Logic Gaming -125 |
Sunday's action begins with perhaps the most pivotal match of the day, FlyQuest vs Counter Logic Gaming. Both teams are heading for the playoffs, but CLG still has an outside chance of placing in the top two and FlyQuest also have the opportunity to place in the top four, avoiding the lower bracket as a result.
The momentum lies with CLG, who have gone on a four-match winning sequence, downing the likes of Team Liquid and Cloud9 in a crucial phase for their split. Conversely, FlyQuest have been unable to build on mid-split momentum and have lost their last three, though those matches did come against other playoff contenders.
When the sides met earlier in the split, it was FlyQuest who picked up a surprise victory, and the head-to-head is a back and forth affair. With that in mind, the verdict has to swing towards CLG, who look like a rejuvenated force in recent matches.
What | Cloud9 v 100 Thieves, LCS Summer 2022 |
Where | United States |
When | 16.30pm, Sunday August 7th 2022 |
How to watch | LCS Twitch & Youtube channels, bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | Cloud9 -120, 100 Thieves -125 |
Another crucial encounter on the day sees second-place 100 Thieves take on Cloud9, who sit in fifth. 100 Thieves have an 11-3 record in the split, just one win behind the leaders Evil Geniuses, and they arrive to this match on a six-game winning sequence.
They are the form team in the LCS at present, but one of their three losses in the split so far came against Cloud9 and their opponents have won four of their last five matches, which muddies the picture.
Cloud9 still have a chance to occupy an upper-bracket berth in the playoffs, but they need to win their three remaining matches to stand a chance.
100 Thieves themselves need to win to remain in the hunt to win the split and as the odds suggest, this game could go either way.
What | Evil Geniuses v Team Liquid, LCS Summer 2022 |
Where | United States |
When | 17.30pm, Sunday August 7th 2022 |
How to watch | LCS Twitch & Youtube channels, bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | Evil Geniuses -163, Team Liquid +120 |
Game three is another encounter with playoff connotations as split leaders Evil Geniuses take on Team Liquid, who will be desperate to separate themselves from fifth-placed Cloud9.
Liquid sits on 9-5 heading into this match and with Cloud9 playing in the prior match, they could face a pair of scenarios. If Cloud9 win, a loss for Liquid would move them down to fifth, meaning they would lose their upper-bracket spot for the playoffs. If Cloud9 lose, they have the opportunity to extend their advantage over their rivals.
Winning this match will not be an easy task, however, as Evil Geniuses have looked imperious for the vast majority of this split and have lost just two games throughout. That being said, it is interesting to note that Liquid has a good record against Evil Geniuses in the head to head.
This is another match that has the potential to be extremely close, but as the odds suggest, Evil Geniuses are the team to beat.
What | Immortals v Golden Guardians, LCS Summer 2022 |
Where | United States |
When | 18.30pm, Sunday August 7th 2022 |
How to watch | LCS Twitch & Youtube channels, bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | Immortals +120, Golden Guardians -163 |
Immortals will be looking to take themselves off the bottom of the standings when they take on fellow struggles Golden Guardians.
Immortals dropped to the foot of the standings following a loss to second-from-bottom Dignitas and having lost to Golden Guardians earlier in the split - twice in the Spring Split too - it is no surprise that they are the outsiders in this match.
That being said, Immortals have picked up wins against playoff contenders Cloud9 and FlyQuest this split and if they are able to bring their A-game, there is upset potential in this match.
That theory can be further expanded when you delve into Golden Guardian’s recent matches, which has seen them lose five on the spin. They are far from a solid favourite in this match and you could easily make a case for a Immortals victory.
What | TSM v Dignitas, LCS Summer 2022 |
Where | United States |
When | 19.30pm, Sunday August 7th 2022 |
How to watch | LCS Twitch & Youtube channels, bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds | TSM -175, Dignitas +125 |
The final match of the day is another clash towards the bottom of the split and, as the odds suggest, a strong case can be made for both teams.
Dignitas broke a six-match losing sequence by defeating Immortals yesterday, but Immortals were in poor form themselves and that victory is no guarantee of a return to their peak. It will have at least done the power of good for their confidence, though, and TSM cannot brag of any good recent form themselves.
They defeated Golden Guardians two games ago, but four defeats either side, including to Immortals, makes them a difficult team to trust implicitly, especially at skinnier odds.
We can expect a topsy-turvy affair and in keeping with the result of Sunday’s fixtures, this is another wide-open match.
