This year's LCK Spring 2023 is in full swing in South Korea and there are two more matches to enjoy on Saturday.
Considered one of the most prestigious League of Legends divisions in the world, the LCK season's first split - the LCK Spring - is into its fourth week with five more to go afterwards before the beginning of the playoffs.
Only six of the 10 teams competing in the regular season of the LCK Spring will advance to the playoffs and it is all to play for at this early stage of the split.
There is another double header on Saturday with strugglers Nongshim RedForce first up against Kwangdong Freecs with the teams having posted only two wins between them, before highflyers Gen.G Esports lock horns with KT Rolster.
It is a big year for South Korea in the League of Legends realm with the end-of-year World Championship set to take place in Seoul and every match matters as teams look to ensure they are competing in the major event.
What | NS RedForce v Kwangdong Freecs, LCK Spring 2023 |
Where | South Korea |
When | 01:00 Saturday February 11th, 2023 |
How to watch | LCK Twitch & Youtube channels |
Odds | NS RedForce +110, Kwangdong Freecs -150 |
Neither Nongshim RedForce nor Kwangdong Freecs took the LCK season by storm in 2022 and it has so far been a similar story in the LCK Spring 2023.
Both of these sides missed out on a spot in the LCK Summer playoffs last year, while only Kwangdong Freecs squeezed into the top six in the LCK Spring.
But in the LCK Spring 2023, the sides seem to have regressed even further, having both posted 1-6 win-loss records to start the season.
There are of course still five full weeks remaining in the LCK Spring 2023, so all is not lost for these sides as they look to pursue a top-six berth but they must start putting points on the board and both will likely view this match as a prime opportunity to do so.
Kwangdong Freecs are marginal favorites to win this one at -150 and that is understandable given their games win-loss record of 5-12 is slightly better than Nongshim RedForce's 4-13, while they were the better team in 2022.
That said, both teams are flagging right now and neither warrant backing, so instead it may prove prudent to look at backing this match to go the distance with over 2.5 maps available at -110.

What | KT Rolster v Gen.G, LCK Spring 2023 |
Where | South Korea |
When | 03:30, Saturday February 11th, 2023 |
How to watch | LCK Twitch & Youtube channels |
Odds | KT Rolster +300, Gen.G -450 |
There were concerns regarding how Gen.G Esports would get on this campaign after allowing Son "Lehends" Si-woo and Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk to depart during the offseason, but the team have swept aside any of those worries with a red-hot start to the LCK Spring 2023.
Gen.G have started the split with six wins from seven matches, keeping pace with juggernauts T1 at the top of the LCK Spring.
Their games win-loss record of 12-4 is the best in the division and they should be fancied to maintain their winning streak against KT Rolster on Saturday.
Gen.G's only defeat of the LCK Spring came in their opening match of week one against T1 and since then they have not looked back.
Four of their six wins have been by a 2-0 margin and backing them to win by that scoreline again looks a worthwhile bet when they face KT Rolster, who are not having a bad season themselves.
KT Rolster are well on course to make the playoffs, having done so in the LCK Summer 2022, with four wins picked up from their seven matches.
Their win over Dplus KIA last time out should at least give them a confidence boost going into this match but Gen.G arguably represent a step-up in quality.
Gen.G made the semi-finals of last year's League of Legends World Championship and will know they cannot afford to lose matches like this if they are to be serious contenders for the LCK Spring 2023 title.
