World number 38 Corey Conners arrives at Royal Troon GC in solid form and he looks to be the best chance of delivering a first Canadian Major winner since Mike Weir's 2003 Masters success.
The 32-year-old impressed at the Renaissance Club in last week's Scottish Open, finishing in a tie for 10th and ending the tournament 17th for putts per green in regulation and 21st in strokes gained putting.
Such a steady player from tee-to-green, the putter can sometimes misbehave for Conners but the fact he rolled the ball well last week is a positive ahead of this Major test.

Nick Taylor enjoyed a brilliant opening couple of months to the year, winning the Phoenix Open in February before then finishing T12 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational a couple of starts later.
However, the 36-year-old has been unable to maintain these standards and a T26 finish at the Players Championship is the best result from his last 11 appearances.
Taylor's trip to last week's Scottish Open didn't provide much of a confidence boost as he could only manage a tie for 57th place, and he missed the cut on his Open debut last year.

Adam Hadwin's sole PGA Tour title came at the 2017 Valspar Championship but there have been signs he could be ready to end his long drought for a second success.
The 36-year-old has recorded three top-five finishes - the most recent of those coming at The Memorial Tournament in June - and he also racked up a top-10 result at the American Express.
Hadwin finished T34 in Scotland last week and his driving accuracy ranking of 22nd for the tournament was a bonus, as was his strokes gained putting rank of 12th.
An Open record of two missed cuts, a T35 and a T57 doesn't make for great reading, but Hadwin could squeeze into a top-20 place if he finds his best stuff.

Mackenzie Hughes was showing some consistent form on the PGA Tour, recording two top-10 finishes and a top-five result, but his last four starts are concerning and it's hard to make a strong case for him.
The 33-year-old suffered back-to-back missed cuts at the Memorial Tournament and the U.S. Open before going T36 at the Travelers Championship and T46 at the Scottish Open.
Hughes has, at least, got some previous Open form when he was tied-sixth on debut in 2021, but he missed the cut the following year and didn't qualify for the 2023 edition.
With the inconsistencies in his game, the best he can probably hope for is a top-20 finish, and even that may not happen.
