South Korea's LCK Spring 2023 continues on Friday with six places in the playoffs on the line and the region's top ten teams competing for those all-important spots.

A win in this event will send the champion to the Mid-season World Invitational, where the best teams in the world will compete for a chance to better their situation towards the World Championships at season's end.

Friday’s slate features two more intense match-ups, with the teams in action including Kwangdong Freecs, KT Rolster, Liiv Sandbox and Gen.G.

Kwangdong Freecs has had a rough go thus far in LCK 2023 Spring, as they have yet to win a match. They sit 0-4 and are all but out of the running for the playoffs at this event.

As for their opponent KT Rolster find themselves within the top six at 2-2. Their wins have come against Nongshim RedForce and Hanwha Life Esports, who are both currently outside of playoff contention.

KT’s two losses have come at the hands of T1 and Liiv SANDBOX - two teams going well at the top of the overall standings - while KDF was able to put up a strong fight in their week one loss against BRION, as they won their only map win thus far.

Of these two teams in this match KT Roster had a much better 2022 season as they were able to reach the playoffs during LCK 2022 Summer.

They also secured a top-four finish at the LCK 2022 Regional Finals, while Kwangdong Freecs is a far newer name in the organization and they only partook in three events in 2022.

Kwangdong Freecs has lost six maps in a row and has only one map win in their last 17 maps played overall. The last head-to-head meeting for KT and KDF was a very quick match as KT Rolster won the match in two maps.

Backing the more experienced team, KT Rolster, is the right move to not only win but cover the Match Handicap of -1.5 at -125.

Gen.G are a clear favourite

Liiv SANDBOX will try to keep things going in the right direction as they are currently 4-1 and looking to improve their current third-place standing. They currently share the same record with their opponent Gen.G Esports.

Gen.G’s loss was at the hands of T1. As for Liiv they fell short against Dplus KIA which was a bit of a surprise loss at that. Liiv SANDBOX looks to back up three-straight third-place finishes at LCK Summer 2022 and LCK 2022 Regional Finals.

Gen.G had an outstanding 2022 campaign with a runner-up during LCSK 2022 Spring and the playoffs of that event. They then moved onto LCK 2022 Summer where they were able to get a victory. They also won the summer playoffs to qualify for the 2022 World Championship.

The team ultimately fell in the semi-finals against DRX in four maps. Worlds ended with a 3rd-4th place finish for Gen.G. So that still put them among the elite in the world of League of Legends.

With a still very intact roster that helped Gen.G reach their success in 2022, the team has a good shot of making another big run into the 2023 World Championship. That run can start by knocking off Liiv SANDBOX in this head-to-head match.

The last head-to-head run in for Liiv and Gen.G was during the LCSK Summer 2022 playoffs, where Gen.G was able to escape with a 3-1 victory winning two maps in a row to start the match, only to come up short in the third map.

Luckily Gen.G was able to rally on the fourth map and close out the match, which was in the semi-final round of the playoffs and they used that win to proceed to a showdown with T1, who they swept in three maps.

This should be another strong fight for both teams but, Gen.G is a must bet at -125 to cover the Match Handicap of -1.5.
