Esports day-by-day: Bali Dota punctuates League of Legends focus

The LEC Summer may be on hiatus until the start of its group stage next week but the rest of the League of Legends major divisions across the globe continue with their summer seasons in another jam-packed week of Esports.


Dota 2: Bali Major playoffs get underway

Away from League of Legends, it is a key week in the world of Dota 2 with the Bali Major 2023 continuing on Wednesday with the event's playoffs.

Taking place at the Ayana Estate in Bali, the Major has a prize pool of $500,000 and is the first DPC Major to take place in Indonesia.

The event began with a group stage with the 18 teams competing split into two sections of nine teams and the top six in each group advancing to the playoffs, the top four of which progressed directly to the upper bracket.

Team Liquid were the standout team in Group A, while in Group B Quest Esports rose to the occasion to top the standings.

The playoffs at the Dota 2 Bali Major are in a double-elimination format, giving teams in the upper bracket two bites at the cherry.

Team Liquid are -175 to beat +125 PSG.LGD in the first upper-bracket quarter-final, while BB Team are -150 to see off +110 Tundra Esports.

Beastcoast, meanwhile, are priced at +200 to defeat Gaimin Gladiators, who are -275, while highflying Quest Esports can be backed at -225 to beat +162 Team Aster.


League of Legends: Triple header in LPL Summer

China's LPL Summer continues at a furious pace this week and on Thursday there are another three matches to enjoy.

Bilibili Gaming and JD Gaming, the top two in the regular season, have already booked their spot in the LPL Summer playoffs but LNG Esports are not far behind them.

With eight wins from their 12 matches this season, they are -1000 to defeat +550 Anyone's Legend, while Team WE are -275 to beat +200 shots Rare Atom.

The final match of the day looks competitive with ThunderTalk Gaming available at -175 to defeat Invictus Gaming, who are +125 to win.


League of Legends: Five LCS Summer matches on the cards

North America's finest are also back in action in the LCS Summer this week and there are five matches set to be packed in on Friday.

The first of those features a rejuvenated FlyQuest team, who won all three of their matches in week three, against Dignitas in what will be their third LCS Summer match of the week.

The teams are of course in action a couple of times before Friday but as it stands FlyQuest are -225 to defeat +162 Dignitas, while among the other matches there is an intriguing encounter between Team Liquid and 100 Thieves, who are both -120 to prevail.


League of Legends: Highflyers T1 and Gen.G clash in LCK Summer

South Korea's LCK Summer is also in action every day from Wednesday this week with a double-header on Saturday as T1 face Gen.G and Nongshim RedForce battle Liiv SANDBOX.

Gen.G Esports are favorites at -225 against T1, having won all eight of their LCK Summer matches heading into this week but T1 are no mugs with a 6-2 record, and are +162 shots.

Liiv SANDBOX, meanwhile, are -275 favorites to see off +200 Nongshim RedForce in the later match.

CS:GO: 9z and lock horns in FiReLEAGUE Battle Showmatch

Both 9z and have been invited to the Counter Strike: Global Offensive FirReLEAGUE Global Finals at the end of this year but will first compete in a one-off Battle Showmatch this Saturday for $150,000.

The standalone encounter is taking place at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires and are heavily fancied to win at -900, while 9z are +500 shots.


Dota 2: Time for Bali champion to be crowned

On Sunday, this week's Dota 2 Bali Major reaches its conclusion with the Grand Final.

The overall winners of the first Major in Indonesia will receive $200,000 in prize money as well as 600 Dota Pro Circuit points.

The Grand Final is played in a best-of-five format and the event will be the third and last Major of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit season.
