The action continues at a relentless pace in the Counter Strike: Global Offensive IEM Rio with the Legends Stage set to reach its conclusion on Tuesday.
After a key batch of matches on Monday, we now know that FURIA, Cloud9, Heroic, Outsiders and Fnatic are all through to the final phase of the competition known as the Champions Stage.
Sprout, Bad News Eagles, Team Vitality, Ninjas In Pyjamas and FaZe Clan, meanwhile, have all already been eliminated.
That leaves six teams to battle it out for the remaining three spots in the Champions Stage and they lock horns on Tuesday with MOUZ taking on ENCE, BIG against Natus Vincere and Team Liquid facing Team Spirit in their final Legends Stage matches.
Once the final three teams to qualify have been confirmed, the competition will move to the Champions Stage - a straight knockout tournament - with the winners set for $500,000 in prize money and places in the BLAST Premier Final 2022 and the IEM Katowice 2023.
What | MOUZ vs ENCE, CS:GO IEM Rio |
Where | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil |
When | 14.00pm, Tuesday 8th November |
How to watch | ESL CS:GO Twitch / Youtube channel / bet365 live streaming |
Odds | MOUZ -138, ENCE +100 |
The clash between MOUZ and ENCE appears to be the closest betting heat on Tuesday but there could be even less between the sides than the odds suggest.
MOUZ are -138 to come out on top but naturally both of these teams have 2-2 records in the Legends Stage so far and only three points separate their round differentials.
Last time out, MOUZ lost to Outsiders while ENCE beat Team Vitality but in the round before it was MOUZ who beat Vitality, while ENCE lost to Fnatic.
It is likely to be a match of fine margins but ENCE can hold their own better than the prices suggest and punters should look at backing over 2.5 maps at -120.
ENCE are no pushovers, having reached this stage by finishing second in the IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B, while they were also runners-up at the IEM Dallas in June. With so much riding on it, this could be a close one.
What | BIG vs Natus Vincere, CS:GO IEM Rio |
Where | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil |
When | 17.30pm, Tuesday 8th November |
How to watch | ESL CS:GO Twitch / Youtube channel / bet365 live streaming |
Odds | BIG +450, Natus Vincere -800 |
After a stellar summer in which they won the BLAST Premier Spring Final and the BLAST Premier Fall Groups and finished runners-up at the PGL Major Antwerp and the IEM Cologne, it is fair to say Natus Vincere have since gone off the boil a bit.
They failed to make an impact at the subsequent ESL Pro League Season 16 and have so far been hit and miss in the IEM Rio Legends Stage. But they are nonetheless -800 to see off BIG and make the Champions Stage.
Although both sides have identical win-loss records, Natus Vincere's round differential of +20, largely due to their comprehensive win over Bad News Eagles last time out, stands them out as the better side.
Their added experience should show in this one and they are worth a bet at -1.5 on the handicap at a decent price of -163.
What | Team Liquid vs Team Spirit, CS:GO IEM Rio |
Where | Rio de Janeiro, Brazil |
When | 21.00pm, Tuesday 8th November |
How to watch | ESL CS:GO Twitch / Youtube channel / bet365 live streaming |
Odds | Team Liquid -175, Team Spirit +125 |
The final match on Tuesday could also be a fairly one-sided affair with Team Liquid well-fancied at -175 to beat Team Spirit, who are +125.
Liquid are somewhat unfortunate to be playing in this final day of action, having pushed Heroic very close in a decisive match on Monday. They eventually lost 2-1 but won the second map - Mirage - by a score of 16-5 and were hardly outclassed on the other two.
They can, however, put things right with a win against Team Spirit and it would be no surprise to see a comfortable triumph. Back Team Liquid to win 2-0 at +175.
