Esports day by day: CS:GO kicks into gear alongside LOL action

With one major League of Legends division reaching the playoffs in its summer split and a significant CS:GO tournament on the cards, there is a lot to look forward to in another crucial week on the Esports calendar.

Here is a look at what lies ahead.

Monday

League of Legends: LEC Summer Groups continue with double-header

The EMEA region's third split of the season - the LEC Summer - has wrapped up its regular season and is now into the group stage, which continues with two matches on Monday.

The remaining eight teams involved have been split into two sections of four teams for the LEC Summer Groups and only the two top teams in each group will advance to the LEC Summer playoffs.

On Monday, the first two qualified teams will be confirmed as G2 Esports take on Team BDS in the first qualification match in Group A, while Group B's first qualification match pitches SK Gaming against Excel Esports.

SK Gaming are -150 to defeat +110 Excel, while G2 Esports are -500 to see off +333 Team BDS.

Tuesday

CS:GO: Key contests in Group A and B of BLAST Premier Fall Groups

Turning attentions to the world of CS:GO and on Tuesday the ongoing BLAST Premier Fall Groups continue.

The S-Tier event in Copenhagen has a prize pool of more than $170,000 and the top six teams from the event will book their place at the highly-coveted BLAST Premier Fall Finals later this year.

The event has begun with three double-elimination format groups, each consisting of four teams, and the winner of each group automatically progresses to the Finals, while the remaining teams drop into the play-in stage.

In Groups A and B, Team Vitality and Heroic have already secured Grand Final spots and we will discover which teams they will face after Tuesday's matches.

Complexity are +110 to beat -150 Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Group A lower-bracket final with the winner of that match set to face Vitality in the Grand Final.

In Group B, meanwhile, NAVI are -334 to beat +240 BIG and the winner of that contest will take on Heroic in the Grand Final.

Wednesday

CS:GO: Winner of Group A confirmed in BLAST Premier Fall Groups

Continuing with the theme of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups and on Wednesday, the aforementioned Grand Finals in Groups A and B will take place, giving us our first two teams qualified for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.

The Group C Grand Final will then take place on Thursday.

Thursday

League of Legends: Crunch time in LPL Summer

Things are heating up on the League of Legends summer circuits and on Thursday, China's LPL Summer progresses to the playoff phase.

The final match schedule is still to be confirmed but the playoffs will feature the top 10 teams from the regular LPL Summer season, and matches are in a best-of-five format.

The overall winner of the event will qualify for the 2023 League of Legends World Championship with Bilibili Gaming, JD Gaming, LNG Esports and Top Esports expected to be the frontrunners for the title.

Friday

CS:GO: BLAST Premier Fall Groups advances with play-in stage

Once again switching attention back to CS:GO and the BLAST Premier Fall Groups are not done after the Grand Finals on Wednesday and Thursday.

That is because the teams involved will have a second bite of the cherry in the play-in stage, which begins on Friday.

The play-in stage is made up of three single-elimination gauntlets with the winners of each gauntlet set to qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Final and the remaining teams set to feature at their respective regional showdowns.

Saturday

League of Legends: Gen.G in action in LCK Summer

South Korea's LCK Summer has a few weeks left of its regular season before the playoffs begin and there are two matches to look forward to on Saturday.

Big guns Gen.G are -275 to win their match against +200 KT Rolster, while in the other fixture, Kwandong Freecs are fancied at -334 to defeat +240 Nongshim RedForce.

Sunday

CS:GO: BLAST Premier Fall Groups reach their conclusion

By the end of Sunday, the CS:GO BLAST Premier Fall Groups will have finished with the conclusion of the play-in stage, meaning we will know which six teams are heading to the Fall Finals.

Next on the agenda in the Esport is the IEM Cologne, which gets underway next week.
