The IEM Rio 2022 event has seen plenty of surprises but with the quarterfinal round set to begin later this week here is a look at the teams with the best chances of winning the event outright.
With the prize of $1,250,000 on the line in the coming days, the teams still in contention at IEM Rio 2022 all will be gunning to prove they are the best in the world at CS: GO.
Several of the top teams in the world standings have missed out on their opportunity to take home the Championship. This event began with 16 teams, and now it is down to just eight teams left with a chance to win it all.
FaZe Clan was one of the early outright favorites, but they weren't able to stay in the event very long and now other teams have a chance to stake their claim as the top team in CS:GO.

Odds | Cloud9 +275, Natus Vincere +300, FURIA +450, Heroic +500, Outsiders +600, Fnatic +1400, MOUZ +1400, Team Spirit +1600 |
It doesn't come as a surprise that Natus Vincere still finds itself near the top of the odds board with the final days of IEM Rio 2022 quickly approaching. This team was one of the favourites to start the event that could emerge as the outright champion.
They look to have some competition as Cloud9 has really turned up their play and jumped just ahead of Na'Vi as the favourite to win this great event. Na'Vi lacked their usual dominance in the Legends Stage as they finished as the seventh-placed team at just 3-2.
Cloud9 meanwhile has made an impressive run all the way from the Challengers Stage winning three of their five matches in that opening stage.
They then proceeded to win all three of their matches against three outstanding opponents in FaZe Clan, Heroic, and a head-to-head win against Natus Vincere.
It's tough to say if these two teams will both be in the running come the Championship match on Sunday, but both have earned their spot as the top two favourites to win it all.
FURIA lost a little bit of respect on the world stage in the past couple of seasons with several roster shakeups. Yet that hasn't stopped their drive to keep themselves on a national stage. The home-town squad has a chance to shock the world when they open with Natus Vincere in the quarterfinals.
Brazil's only hope isn't out of the running as Na'Vi has looked quite vulnerable after losing two of its five matches in the Legends Stage. The home-town favourites have really improved their odds with the team at +450 to win the event which is good for the third-best odds overall.
Can Yuri 'yuurih' Santos and Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato lead FURIA to glory in their hometown Major. Time will tell.
The odds for three of the eight teams remaining are long, but that won't stop them from trying to pull off a miracle.
Those three teams are Fnatic, MOUZ and Team Spirit. Spirit is by far the team that has the longest odds at +1600 to win. Fnatic certainly didn't get any favours with their quarter final draw as they face Outsiders to kick off the action.
MOUZ might have the toughest match of the quarter-final round as they have to find a way to outlast Cloud9. As for Team Spirit they may stand a fighting chance with their opening match coming against Heroic who they are very familiar with.
Spirit spoiled the party for Heroic at PGL Major Antwerp earlier this season, and they might be in position to send Heroic home early again. Team Spirit didn't stand much of a chance at that event, but they were able to take home a 3rd-4th finishing position.
The team sits just outside the top 10 in the world rankings in CS:GO but reaching the final eight has already put them in position to make a jump.
They also should feel some confidence with a two-match winning streak. Team Spirit has had a good 2022 campaign and that could all be paid off if this longshot can go all the way and take down some juggernaut teams that sit in front of them.
