The final day of qualifiers for Call of Duty Major 4 on Sunday sees three matches taking place to decide the seedings at the event.
All 12 teams will partake in Major 4, but the qualification process is still very important for which seed and draw those teams get. A top four seed could be all the difference a team needs to make a deep run.
With only two major events left in the 2023 CDL season, points are very important come postseason time. Only one of the seeds is set for Major 4, with Optic Texas emerging as the favorite to get the job done, as the #1 seed.
The top eight teams have all but secured their spots for Major 4 seeding, but there is plenty on the line in Sunday’s action with the first match being played between Seattle Surge and Los Angeles Guerrillas.
The Minnesota Rokkr, LA Thieves, New York Subliners and Boston Breach will also be in action on the final day of qualifiers.
What | Seattle Surge v LA Guerrillas |
Where | USA (Online) |
When | 3PM ET, Sunday April 16th 2023 |
How to watch | CDL Twitch |
Odds | Seattle Surge -500, LA Guerrillas +333 |
The Seattle Surge doesn’t have the pressure of needing to win this match-up as much as Los Angeles. The Guerrillas need a win in a bad way as they enter this final day of qualifiers with an 0-4 record.
They all but guaranteed themselves an 11th seed for Major 4, and that is an automatic win or go home situation being in the lower-bracket to open play.
With three players that joined the organization in January, things have not gotten off to a good start for the Guerrillas, and that is even with Arcitys being the top player for the organization.
The team also finished 9-12 in Major 3, and hasn’t been able to finish higher than 7th all season.
Seattle, meanwhile, has plenty of confidence with a 3-1 record and a top four seed, if they win this match-up. The Surge has a very teamwork filled roster with their four players all being in the organization since September 2021.
Seattle has had a good run in the Modern Warfare II server, including a number one seed for Major 3. They also finished runner-up at Major 1 this season.
The Surge are -250 the -1.5 handicap to cover and should win this head-to-head without much challenge.
What | Minnesota Rokkr v LA Thieves |
Where | USA (Online) |
When | 4.30PM ET, Sunday April 16th 2023 |
How to watch | CDL Twitch |
Odds | Minnesota Rokkr +250, LA Thieves -350 |
The Thieves and Rokkr have both made the most of the Major 4 qualifiers with both sitting in the top eight of the standings. That includes a current third place spot for Los Angeles.
Minnesota has some work to do if they want to take down last season’s World Champions. Attach and Afro look to lead a major upset, but they will need a good map draw to pull this one out.
The Thieves have been a very touch out all season.
Los Angeles has been powerful for a long time and their high-flying line-up of Drazah, Kenny, Octane and Envoy will prove to be too much for Minnesota. The Thieves aren’t as strong as last season, but they know when to flick the right switch.
The Thieves at -150 to cover the -1.5 handicap has great value.

What | New York Subliners v Boston Breach |
Where | USA (Online) |
When | 6PM ET, Sunday April 16th 2023 |
How to watch | CDL Twitch |
Odds | New York Subliners -163, Boston Breach +120 |
This match-up will be a great way to close out the Major 4 qualifiers, as Boston and New York face-off. The Subliners are in a three-way tie for the third seed at major 4.
A win against the Breach (2-2) could set up New York for the run they will need to go on to win Major 4. The Subliners won Major 4 in 2022, which was held in New York City.
The second-year team Boston Breach have made plenty of gains in the last year. Their biggest issue will be incorporating new addition Kremp, who just joined the active roster this month.
A high point for Boston this season has been their two-seed at Major 3, which helped them secure a top-four finish at that event.
They have a much tougher task ahead of them with the Subliners, who won Major 1 this season, although since that win New York has kind of gone ice cold.
This could be the time that all changes as both of these teams will be trying to get as many points as possible with only one more Major this season, before the postseason World Championship.
Boston is a tough out, but the Subliners at -163 is the value play.
