Ahead of their blockbuster clash in Wales, we sat down with Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams (separately, of course), to find out what makes them tick.
We put 12 questions to each about their guilty pleasures, their boxing icons, and what they’d do if they do for a living if they weren’t in the ring.
Eubank Jr: Krispy Kremes and Domino’s Pizza
Williams: My missus and kids, I’ve got two kids back home, one’s nearly six and the other’s still a baby. Second, I miss food. I just want to eat lots of food!
Eubank Jr: George Groves, when I got cut.
Williams: Demetrius Andrade because I lost to him, he’s a three-time world champion in two weight divisions. He was very tricky, he punched hard, he was very good.
Eubank Jr: I broke into a kid’s locker, and I got caught and expelled. We had these lockers in a changing room and you could see into them, they were like wired lockers, and he had boxes of Twixes, Galaxy bars, Kit-Kats, just teasing me! For about two days I was walking past and thought ‘I’m having some of that’, so I broke into the kid’s locker and someone ratted on me.
Eubank Jr: Breaking Bad
Eubank Jr: Probably my house. Or my car. Mansory McLaren 720S
Eubank Jr: I don’t lift weights. Genuinely.
Williams: I don’t know, but it’s a lot because I’m very strong.
Eubank Jr: Probably a supermodel or a AAA Hollywood actor
Eubank Jr: Possibly.
Williams: I’d love to be a professional motorcross rider. I've always loved it and would still do it now if it wasn’t too risky.
Boxing: Tale of the Tape with Liam Williams
Boxing: Johnny Nelson's 2021 wrap-up and 2022 preview
Boxing: Johnny Nelson on the British prospects in the featherweight division
Boxing: Tale of the Tape with Chris Eubank Jr
UFC: Five of the biggest shocks in UFC history
Eubank Jr: Karma’s a real thing, and what goes around comes around.
Williams: Keep your ears open, mouth shut. “See all, hear all, say F-all”
Eubank Jr: If you’re going to pick one it would be Muhammad Ali, but growing up I used to watch all the best middleweights, Duran, Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Hagler, my old man, Roy Jones of course.
Williams: Joe Calzaghe. With him being Welsh and not too far away from me and being world champion god knows how many times. A special, special fighter. He’s the Pride of Wales isn’t he?
Eubank Jr: Playing poker
Williams: Has to be ice cream.
Eubank Jr: Most satisfying was probably beating James DeGale
Williams: Probably winning the British title for the first time against Kris Carslaw at the Manchester Arena. As I was growing up I never thought I was good enough to win a British title, and then to finally get my hands on it was like, ‘I’m a superstar!’
Eubank Jr: 2022 middleweight world champ.
Williams: The main one is to become world champion. If we can get a defence at the Millennium Stadium, that would be very special.
Williams: Millennium Stadium.
Cardiff or Swansea?
Williams: I’d have to say Cardiff, it’s closer to home.
Williams: I’m a big fan of the Pacquiao/Marquez knockout. Also, I didn’t watch the fight but I was on Instagram looking through the search bar… Jake Paul knocking out Tyron Woodley. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a hype job, but he’s doing the right things and earning a lot of money. I don’t think he’s the best fighter but that was a very good knockout.
